Kevin Oliver
Director, Advisor
Kevin, born and bred in Nottingham has worked in the financial services sector his entire working life. Starting at the Co-Operative Bank in 1977 where he worked for five years, Kevin moved on to become a manager at the Leeds Permanent Building Society before becoming Regional Manager at the Scarborough Building Society. In 1991 Kevin left the Scarborough Building Society to establish his own brokerage alongside David Jones that is now Oliver Jones Associates Limited.
Being involved in financial services for over 40 years has helped Kevin to acquire vast amounts of knowledge, experience and useful connections across the mortgage and financial services sector.

Kevin has lived in Wollaton with his wife for over 35 years and has two grown up sons and recently became a grandfather. He loves to travel and plays tennis regularly at David Lloyd, he is also a long suffering Nottingham Forest supporter.
As a landlord of commercial property and investment property Kevin has lots of experience as both a landlord and mortgage advisor enabling him to understand things from both sides.

David Jones
Director, Advisor
David was born in Shrewsbury in 1965 and first came to Nottingham in 1984 to study for an Economics Degree at what was then Trent Polytechnic.
His mortgage career began in 1988 meaning he now has a vast knowledge of what has become a complex mortgage market. He is also a qualified Equity Release advisor and so can advise across the full spectrum of mortgages.
“My aim is to listen to what you think you need. I will then advise you as to what I would do and why I would do it if I were in the same position. I’ll never dictate to you, but I will always give you a straight and honest answer.”
He owns a small number of student properties and therefore has first hand experience that is invaluable in advising clients with both small and large Buy To Let property portfolios.
You will occasionally hear him on BBC Radio Nottingham discussing various issues to do with the mortgage market.
In late 2018, he stepped down from running Beach Soccer in England having spent 11 years supporting the Men’s and Women’s national teams as well as developing the national league. He is therefore hoping to find a little more time to get back on the golf course!

Grenville Lunn
Senior Mortgage Consultant
Grenville originally born in Huddersfield, left home at 18 and studied his degree in London after which he spent many years with Bradford & Bingley in the South East as a Branch Manager at various branches. He qualified as an IFA 22 years ago. He moved to Nottingham in 2000 and after a few more years with Bradford & Bingley joined Oliver Jones Associates Limited in 2005. Grenville lives in West Bridgford with his family and is a keen golfer.
He deals with all types of mortgage related issues and specialises in the over 55 mortgage market, Lifetime/Equity Release. A market he has over 20 years’ experience in.

Phil Young
Senior Mortgage & Protection Consultant
Phil was born in Hertfordshire in 1964 and was educated at Alleynes Grammar School before going on to obtain a Geography degree from Huddersfield Polytechnic. His mortgage career began in 1985 working for the Bradford & Bingley for 20 years (all over the North of England) before joining Oliver Jones Associates Ltd in 2005. He holds all the required qualifications.
Having moved house over 10 times he is well versed in the stresses and strains that are involved in the mortgage process and is keen to make life easy for his clients.
He is a very keen sportsman and still plays competitive golf at Coxmoor & Aberdovey Golf Clubs, hockey for The Nottingham Hockey Club & tennis at Mapperley Park Tennis Club. He has 2 sons, 4 grandchildren, 2 border collies and 3 geese all of which keep him on his toes!

James Spurgin
Mortgage & Protection Advisor
James has a wealth of experience in the financial services industry having first worked for a mortgage brokers as an office junior in 1997 learning the ropes before working his way up to become a fully qualified mortgage adviser. He has worked for a number of brokers and estate agents over the years in the Nottingham & Derby area’s which has given him invaluable experience in arranging residential and buy to let mortgages, remortgages and further borrowing. Prior to joining Oliver Jones Associates Limited in 2019, he spent 5 years working as mortgage advisor at the Nottingham Building Society.

James currently lives in West Bridgford with his wife, and when he isn’t working, you’ll often find him at the City Ground watching his beloved Nottingham Forest, or at Trent Bridge enjoying the cricket.
